Misery Bay Provincial Park

Trail Specs:

Trail Distance: 4km

Trail Time: 2 hours

Trail Parking: Donation Box

Trail Rating: NOVICE

There was parking as well as an information lodge building and several colored-coded trails.  We took the Red trail. The all start off the same, walking on bare bedrock with weird slash marks in the rock. Be careful on a rainy day as these rocks become extremely slippers.  We turned right at the first fork we encountered.

We eventually came out on the beach of Misery Bay.  There were other trails leading around to the other side of the bay, but we followed the red trail on the near side of the bay.  The end of the bay was sandy, but there was a rocky part with a bench to stare off into Lake Huron.

The shore got gradually rockier as we approached the mouth of the bay. When we reached the mouth, it was entirely rocky with lots of strange pock marks.

We decided to skip over to the yellow trail on our way back. We didn't get to see the bay anymore, but the flora was very scenic and before we knew it, we were back at the lodge.
