This trail is located at a hub where several trails start. The posted distance was misleading. The sign said 1.5km, but we recorded it to be 2.7km. The trail climbs, slowly at first, gradually getting steeper.
The trail eventually leveled off and we soon came to a fork in the trail. Arrowed signed suggested we take the right path which lead us up a couple rocky climbs to the first lookout.
The lookout faced East toward Black Bay and we could see some of the spectacular properties of Silver Islet. It was quite the breathtaking view.
We continued down the trail where we encourtered a very steep hill. We carefully descended the hill, stablizing ourselves with trees. About half way down, there was a path running across the slope so it wasnt so steep.
Next, the trail brought us through a mossy channel in the rock with many interesting features. We then followed the trail as it wound back and forth down towards the second lookout at a lake. This lookout was less impressive than the first, but may be more interesting in the summer when the ice is melted.
Next, the trail lead us upwards keeping close to the lake until we completed the loop and hiked back down to the parking lot on the same trail we took to reach the loop.
