Trappers Trail
TRAIL SPECS:
Trail distance: 1.5km
Total trail time: 30-45 mins
Trail Rating: NOVICE
Follow highway 17N until you reach Lake Superior Provincial Park. The turnoff for Trappers Trail is just before Gargantua Road.
A quick two minute drive in off the highway brings you to a nice and easy, yet scenic trail around a beaver pond. Fairly flat with not much climbing, the half hour to 45 minute trail is ideal for children. Most of the difficult areas have boardwalks over them.
Keep on the lookout for moose, beaver, and assorted waterfowl. The pond is very calm and mirror-like with many lilypads freckling the surface. We noticed two beaver lodges, although there may be more.
